Property Reviews

Thank you to team Gill Johnson for the seamless booking of our holiday. They offer extremely good customer service, from arranging a taxi to even ensuring you have a lovely welcome pack on arrival.

We will not hesitate to book with you again and/or to using this apartment - which I must say was lovely. Ideally located to the beach and for walking to Nerja. The apartment is to a high standard and it has a lovely quiet balcony. I guess the only thing we missed was a BQ and maybe a couple more towels for the week.

We look forward to booking again and will be recommending Gill Johnson Holiday Villas to all our friends.

Absolutely fabulous holiday & smashing apartment. Marks’s support was great to have and know that we had good back up if needed. We will book again with you but will probably look for an apartment with a pool

The apartment we had was superb and could not be faulted, both Mark and the taxi driver were excellent... We would definatly use Gill Johnson again.Mr Yates

We had a lovely holiday thank-you and I left a very positive review in the book in the apartment. I will probably book next year through you again

We really enjoyed our stay in this apartment. We spent a lot of time on the lovely large terrace with its perfect sea view. Many thanks to Mark for being so helpful when we needed him. We love Burriana and would definitely consider this apartment for a future visit. Many thanks indeed.

I'd be delighted to review our stay.

Just returned from another wonderful holiday with Gill Johnson Villas and Apartments. We have been coming to Nerja for many years now and always stay in Burriana beach in Gill's accommodation. This year we returned twice, May and August, staying in a wonderful one bedroom frontline apartment with a huge terrace looking directly onto the beach. There is a good selection of restaurants and a small supermarket, and a walk uphill takes you to the centre of Nerja and the Balcon area where there are many more places to eat or just sit with a drink and people watch.

We have also stayed in a villa with a pool and two bedroom apartments when we have brought our grandchildren on holiday with us.

Gill always provides a seamless service, from booking, airport transfers and the quality of the accommodation and I couldn't imagine booking with anyone else.

COMMENTS :

This was our third visit to the apartment, and hopefully not our last. The brilliant location and large sunny terrace keep us coming back. We hired a car this time, but the apartment is within easy reach of everything you need, so it’s not essential. Excellent service from the Gill Johnson office, and Mark the local rep was as helpful as ever. Many thanks again.

Location Information

Nerja is on the seashore some 50 kilometres from Málaga on the N340 coastal highway, and marks the eastern tip of Málaga's Costa del Sol. Once a sleepy fishing village, the town now has a population of over 12,000. Nerja boasts 16 kilometres of beaches with powdery sand and sparkling clear water. All major water sports are available here, including water skiing, scuba diving and sailing. Flanked by a dramatic mountain range, Sierra Almijara, to the east, the town has, fortunately, managed to avoid being blighted by the concrete high-rise scenario which has been the inevitable result of the tourist boom in some of the coastal resorts. The old quarter of the town is still virtually unchanged with narrow, winding streets, whitewashed houses with wrought iron terraces overflowing with geraniums, on which a canary can sometimes be heard singing. However, the heart of Nerja is its spectacular Balcón de Europa, the "Balcony of Europe", a magnificent promenade along the edge of a towering cliff, once the site of the great Moorish castle, with sweeping panoramic views of the Mediterranean and the small coves and beaches below, against an awesome backdrop of hazy blue mountains. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes here to choose from, and the visitor can hire a horse-drawn carriage to explore the most romantic corner of the town. The town's monuments include the 17th century Church of El Salvador, in a style which is a charming mixture of baroque and Moorish, or mudéjar, and the beautiful Gardens of Capistrano Playa, which descend to Burriana Beach. However, Nerja's most spectacular attraction is undoubtedly its fascinating caves, located just three kilometres from the centre of town. They include archaeological treasures such as paintings over 20,000 years old and other pre-historic remains. One of the enormous natural caverns has been transformed into a concert hall, where many performances are staged during the summer.
